VanDam walked away on his own to the castle of Dracula. Vandam had to go through a forest in order to reach the castle. He cannot possibly use the main road, he would be easily spotted. The forest was dark, he could here howling. He was not afraid. He carried on holding out his crossbow incase an animal or vampire were to attack him. The forest was huge, although the main road was half as long only he could not take the risk. Soon, it was night time. He stopped for the night, it was no use for him to travel in the night, he might get lost. Vandam could not sleep, the howling was annoying. The wolves howled even in the day because the forest was dark in the day and the night. He could not get any sleep so he got up and moved on.

He felt that someone or something was following him, he got suspicious that a vampire might be lurking nearby. He suddenly saw a red eye in the distance, it was shining brightly. He knew it could not be a wolf as wolves have yellow eyes. He shot a bolt in the direction of the eyes. The red eyes disappeared, he walked up to where he thought the red eye was but he could not find anything. It was very strange. His rosary was glowing in the dark so he could see a bit of the forest.

Finally, he reached the part of the forest with not so many trees covering the sky, it was morning already and he did not realize it. He killed a deer with one shot of his bow. He was one of the best marksmen in the whole vampire hunter headquarters. He was so hungry he ate half of the deer and threw away the other half. When he looked around he found that he was lost….

He kept thinking of hunting a deer that he did not know where he was going. He used his compass to find a way out of the forest. He went all the way north and saw a bright light at the end of the forest trail. When he got to the end of the trail there stood the tall castle of Dracula.
